Dietikon ZH – The HighStep Systems AG has been awarded a tender by Swissgrid for the first time. Fall protection systems will now be installed on 80 masts to enable efficient, safe and ergonomic ascent and descent. HighStep Systems AG, based in Dietikon, has won the public tender issued by the transmission system operator Swissgrid for the 220 kilovolt line Sedrun – Tavanasa in Graubünden. This involves the supply of climbing and fall protection systems for overhead lines, for the HighStep Systems is now providing its rail system. This will enable employees to climb up and down in an efficient, safe and ergonomic manner and to increase their overall safety and productivity. HighStep Systems wants to carry out the installation of the 80 masts step by step, in the middle of the mast wall. The work is to be completed in April or May 2023. The CEO of the HighStep Systems AG, Alexander Luft: "We are delighted to have won the public tender for the fall protection system for the Sedrun - Tavanasa project and thus to be able to make a contribution to Swissgrid's occupational safety. It shows that our system is not only extremely competitive, but also that we were able to best meet the high requirements of the project." In addition to mainly economic reasons, delivery availability, safety and easy installation played an important role. The HighStep system consists of two components: an aluminum rail as a system carrier and a selectable climbing device. HighStep Easy works with the help of two independent pedals, HighStep Lift as a mobile service lift. The application focuses on power pylons, wind turbines, transmission towers and industrial plants. A total of several thousand installations are in operation worldwide - primarily in Europe and Asian countries. In addition to Swissgrid, customers include the European high-voltage grid operator TenneT and the Chinese energy company State Grid Corporation of China.
